ABOUT ME
All my life I have been writing. The first example I have is a handmade book with a painted cover that I came across in a box of photos a while back. The title is “Stories for older children by Nina Jones, age 11”.
Writing is involved in almost every part of my very varied career. I wrote fact sheets for Contact Wales, an action desk based at BBC Wales; newsletters for European Commission projects involving telephone helplines on drugs and Aids; a report of the project I coordinated for the Equal Opportunities Commission called “Women in Wales” in 1983.
My very first job, aged 17, was as a junior reporter for the “Barry Herald”
So now I live in Spain, and I am “retired”. I am still writing. For the first time I have the leisure to concentrate on fiction, although I still write press releases for organisations I am involved in and articles for newsletters.
I am concerned about the world that my five grandchildren will inherit and so I use my pen, on a blog, on Facebook, in letters to newspapers to campaign on issues I think are important.

As I sit outside my sunny kitchen door with my notebook and pen to hand I realise how lucky I am to have been able to do something I love for so much of my life.
